December 26th, 2007 · No Comments

In the next few days until new year, I will continuous focus on personal goal setting, to provide insights and direction on how we can take charge of our life and create successes within our rights.

Since you are solely responsible for the successes that you gain in your life, to assist you in fully taking charge of your life, I would suggest that you should always face yourself in front of mirror, and see yourself as “self-employment”. From this perspective, then only you are seriously develop your own strategic plan for your life and career.

Goal Setting

The following questions should help you to make new choices and decisions, taking the wheel of your own fate, determining your focus of control, and ultimately incorporating into your goal-setting initiatives.

  1. Identify your biggest problem in life today. In what ways are you responsible for this situation? either be in career or relationship or financial or health.
  2. See yourself as the General Manager of your own company. Explore with questioning yourself how would you act differently if you owned 100% of the shares? Will you participate 100% or you will put your normal effort?
  3. Start from today onward, stop blaming anyone else for anything and instead accept complete responsibility in every area of your life. What actions should you be taking?
  4. Stop making excuses and start making progress. List some of your favorite excuses for your goal setting usage. and make sure that there should not be any no bias.
  5. See yourself as the primary creative force in your own life. You are where you are and what you are because of your own choices and decisions of the past. What should you change from now on? Put this down and keep it for goal setting exercise later.
  6. Make a list of anyone you need to forgive in your life. Is this important? Oh! Definitely, Only we let go, then only we are able to accept new initiatives, Now, Promise yourself, start from today, forgive anyone who has ever hurt you in any way. Learn to let go. Refuse to discuss it again.

If you are understand all the about 6 questions, do put down your answers and be prepared your mindset for next stage. As some of the questions are not straight forward, it is always important to re-visit the questions again and again to reaffirm your understanding and your answers.

Lastly, do stay tune with the next posting and remember to read on James Soh’s The Ladder of Dreams manual, to get yourself familiar with all the tools he provided.

“A man, as a general rule, owes very little to what he is born with —
a man is what he makes of himself.”
