I always have this weired thinking all these while. I have started working for more than 10 years by now, have switched between 4 companies. I always think that if everyone in the organization presume themselves as CEO of their own functional area, isn’t it good? Each of the employee in the organization will take responsible for what they handle in each department, and this will sum up to organization as a whole. In return, the organization will provide them with resources, structures, opportunities and of course rewards too. I believe this will create a more responsible organization and society as a whole.

In life, shouldn’t we also must think and act like CEO, who in-charge of our own life? To me, being CEO of our own life must have the following traits.

1. First of all, be responsible for our Health. These could rank from simple task like take good care of our health, such as eat, sleep, exercise enough to complicated task like fulfill our own promises.

1. Be responsible to our goals. People is forgetful and most of the time we forget our vision, mission and goals that we set years ago. Is it too difficult to attain? or we have shift our attention. However, as one of the CEO job, we should always re-focus our attention to what we were passion about.
2. Be responsible to our money. Being think and act like CEO, we will always behave like entrepreneur, which take the ownership to our financial standing.
3. Be responsible to family. As one of CEO responsibility, we always must be responsible to our own family. Being a lovely husband or wife and a good son or daughter to the parent.
   Leader always deliver on what they promised and stick to the values.
4. Be responsible to friends. Leadership is not about power, but rather how to influence people and appreciate friendship. Simple task like provide guidances or advices to friends
5. Be responsible to our career/business. As the CEO, we must fully responsible in our work or business or both. Take every single issue seriously and deliver what had promised is the utmost important.
6. Be responsible to society. We are part of the this big society. Thing like follow the law to contribute to charity work is just one of the ways how we demonstrate our leadership characteristics.

So shift our mindset from now onward. Be the responsible CEO of your own life and live the life you want.
