Once Upon a Time in Goal Setting

October 22nd, 2007 · 3 Comments

I have posted in my previous posting on Goal Setting - back to basic. It is thus always good to understand the holistic view first.

But today we are going to touch on practical aspect of goal setting. I’ve seen people just make a list of goals, 1 thru 2. Then I’ve seen people chunk their goals into categories… personal, financial, etc.

Moreover, I’ve seen “Roles” written and what we want to become and achieve in those roles, and then mission statements and vision statements and on and on and on.

The easy answer is probably “Whatever works best for you”. Leo Babauta has a fantastic write up on How to Achieve Your Goals with Healthy Habits.

Here I would like to share with you the most POWERFUL TOOL that how I use to tabulate my goals, track and report the progress.

Interesting… I think I’ve tried all of those approaches to goal setting too (1,2,3 etc, chunking into categories, roles etc) but if there’s a more effective way, I’m very interested!

      thanks

Hi Kerri, is glad to see you here! I will think every method is as good! Provided we are consistent with the method and the continuity ways to track the results!
